The music video Free was the first video I made and I did it all by myself. Wrote the song called Free, played and recorded all the parts, was the video subject, videographer, editor, etc. If I had known howdecent the Free Music Video would turn out, I would have done a few things different. Lighting is one thing - the sun makes great lighting, but only if it is NOT behind you.I should have paid more attention to which guitar I was using for which part too, but I got a great natural effect on the lead part with the acoustic and couldn't leave it out.
Anyway, for the song Free and the Music Video I recorded all the parts myself and burned a CD. I just used a boom box and a Sony TRV900 video camera with a tripod and a couple of guitars and headed up Mount Diablo in Northern California and just started shooting. A day later, started editing it using Adobe Premiere and a week later showed it to my band to inspire us to do one ourselves. Then, made and DVD using free software, compressed to a web video and here it is still:
