Any 486 PC with a cheap sound card, which is what people literally throw away these days, can be a great musical tool.

If you have a Mac, PC sound has always been a priority and is pretty intuitive I think. I don't know much about them, but they are highly intuitive to most people. But, the PC is catching up and that is what most novices have.

As with most things commercial, if you want to burn great CDs, its going to cost you a little bit. In the land of PCS and music, faster and bigger mean a lot.

More Hard Drive Space

Faster Hard Drives

Faster Processors

More Ram

A 486 PC with a cheap sound card will allow you to make pretty good two track recordings. Got a cheap PC, to download a FREE Software Music Studio, CLICK HERE.

With a Pentium III 750 megahertz, 256k ram, SCSI UW dedicated Media Hard Drive with 10,000 rpm, 7.2 millisecond speed,  Solid PCI Program Drive, Digi001 Sound Card and ProTools software, your PC becomes an entire Record Label and Internet Radio Station.

If you've got the money (say $4,000) you can pretty much have it all now. And there are a lot of other advantages.
